Moscow mules are seriously so freaking good, and this blackberry Moscow mule is no exception! Made with seasonal blackberries, vodka, lime juice, and ginger beer, this is the perfect cocktail to end summer with. The best part is that it makes for a delicious mocktail too!

The Perfect Blackberry Moscow Mule
I didn’t realize how long it had been since I had a Moscow mule until Frank ordered one while we were dining at the Mr. West Cafe & Bar. After one sip, I felt a tiny tinge of regret for not getting one – not that there was anything wrong with my glass of sparkling.
I knew when I got home that I needed to recreate that delicious cocktail and make it with a fun seasonal twist. If you’ve been keeping up with my previous posts, you probably know I have way too many blackberries in my backyard. They’re so sweet (and free!) that they’re worth every prick and thorn to get to!
Although they’re not worth penetrating any spider webs, so I leave those ones alone.
For this recipe, I’ll be making a classic Moscow mule and adding fresh blackberries to make it a colorful and extra-refreshing cocktail.
Ingredients & Gear
Vodka
Can be swapped for pretty much any alcohol. Swap for gin, and you’ll have a Gin-Gin Mule, swap for whiskey, and you’ll have a Kentucky Mule, Tequila will give you a Mexican Mule!
Blackberries
You don’t need blackberries, any fruit will do. Raspberries or strawberries are a great choice. If going with a firmer fruit like strawberries, you’ll want to muddle them as opposed to throwing them in your shaker.
Lime Juice
Pretty much essential for making a Moscow mule.
Ginger Beer
A great cocktail mixer as is, I especially like the Trader Joe’s brand.
Lime Wedge and Candied Ginger
For garnish. You don’t need both, I was just really proud of myself for owning candied ginger!
Cocktail Shaker and Jigger
I just got this super handy Mason Jar Shaker Lid (which also comes with oil dispenser lids and sprouting lids!) 10/10 recommend.
Glass and Ice
Moscow mules are traditionally served in copper glasses. If you don’t have any, then any 16 oz. glass or jar will do.
